Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisation and Sketch Comedy Training Center

Each master class course offered at this level is instructor-driven. Students will get to study the Harold and related performance pieces at an advanced level and will receive in-depth personal feedback about their own performance and progress as improvisers.

Students will perform in two class performances, generally held at the UCB Theatre – once halfway through the course and once at the end. Graduation is also contingent upon students seeing at least two improvised shows at the UCB Theater before the end of the course.

Class Size 16 students. IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THE REFUND POLICY FOR THESE CLASSES: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS STARTING 24 HOURS BEFORE THE FIRST SESSION (OR A FULL BUSINESS DAY FOR WEEKEND CLASSES).

Advanced Harold Workshop with Will Hines

Things we'll cover: Using your opening to make your first beats better, supporting reality first at the top of your scenes, keeping second beats simple, using the whole harold to inform your third beats plus a healthy mixture of personal notes.

Students will have opportunities to perform at the UCB Theatre.

Note: Spaces in the course will be allotted to students in the order that application emails are received. The status of the course may change to "Sold Out" and back to "Request Permission" when students are being enrolled, but you do NOT need to reapply to this class if that happens.
