Each master class course offered at this level is instructor-driven. Students will get to study the Harold and related performance pieces at an advanced level and will receive in-depth personal feedback about their own performance and progress as improvisers.
Students will perform in two class performances, generally held at the UCB Theatre – once halfway through the course and once at the end. Graduation is also contingent upon students seeing at least two improvised shows at the UCB Theater before the end of the course.
Class Size 16 students. IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THE REFUND POLICY FOR THESE CLASSES: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS STARTING 24 HOURS BEFORE THE FIRST SESSION (OR A FULL BUSINESS DAY FOR WEEKEND CLASSES).

Advanced Harold Workshop with Gavin Speiller
Description: This class will focus on isolating game quickly and then fully supporting it as a group. Students will be pushed to get on the same page as their teammates as quickly as possible about what they're heightening within the scene. The goal is to make your Harolds as tight and focused as possible through group mind.
Students will have opportunities to perform at the UCB Theatre.

Gavin Speiller, Teacher
Gavin has been writing, performing and directing shows at the UCB Theatre since 2002. He 's studied under a number of fantastic teachers including Ian Roberts, Michael Delaney, Billy Merritt and Kevin Mullaney. Gavin currently performs improv with the UCB house team 1985 as well as improv and sketch with the independent group Rogue Elephant. He can also be seen in a number of video projects, commercials and as a
member of the UCB Touring Company. Gavin loves college basketball and Yoohoo.
