The Movie Taught by Dyna Moe
This class centers on the improvised longform "the Movie," created by Del Close with the Family. The class will simultaneously learn how to find games in classic and contemporary movie genres and to simulate film making techniques like camera angles and editing on the live stage and on the fly. (To clarify -- NO CAMERAS INVOLVED, the form is performed live on stage only). Students will be expected to watch and discuss at least one movie a week as homework.
This class will perform at the theatre for 4 weeks.
If you are interested in taking this class, send an email to [email protected] with the subject "ASP 7403 The Movie Form", by 12pm on Monday July 16th. We will review the applicants and send a notice to those who have been accepted by noon Thursday, July 19th.
Prerequisite: Completion of Advanced Study Harold class (or Improv 501). The ability to attend all 8 classes (and four shows). Do not apply for this course if you can not attend all 8 classes and 4 shows.
Maximum class size is 16.

Dyna Moe, Teacher
Feature," directed by Matt Besser, which ran for three years and
performed at the main stage of the Chicago Improv Festival. She has
taught "The Movie" since 2005 and directed the second UCBT movie form
group, "Instant Cinema," for two years (The currently-performing "Two
Man Movie" were cast members). She has a degree in film from NYU and
has directed videos for Channel 101-NY, Superdeluxe.com and the second
season of HBO's Funny or Die Presents. In her day-job capacity as an
illustrator, she drew the artwork for Internet phenomenon
MadMenYourself.com and wrote/illustrated the best-selling book Mad
Men: The Illustrated World. She currently maintains the slightly
