UCBComedy: Making Comedy Videos
Students in this class will work as a team to produce a short comedy sketch video. The class will focus on all stages of production including pre-production, shooting, directing, and editing online videos.
Students should be prepared to devote time outside of class to completing assignments for every session.
Students will be required to watch two online videos per week on UCBComedy.com and be prepared to discuss the videos in class.
Pre-requisite: Completion of Sketch 101 or Improv 201
Nathan Russell, Teacher
Nathan Russell is an actor and filmmaker based in Brooklyn. He has studied at UCB since 2008 with such awesome people as Lennon Parham, Ben Rodgers, Doug Moe, Anthony Atamanuik, Zach Woods, Shannon ONeill, Chris Gethard & Anthony King. At UCB he currently performs with Harold team Very Good Kissand makes videos with the UCBComedy.com Beta team The Brig.
Nathan has a degree in Film & TV Production from NYU, and attempts to put it to good use working as a freelance editor and cinematographer. Reels, projects, and other fun stuff can be found at www.nathanhrussell.com.
