Each master class course offered at this level is instructor-driven. Students will get to study the Harold and related performance pieces at an advanced level and will receive in-depth personal feedback about their own performance and progress as improvisers.
Advanced Harold Workshop with Nate Dern
"Truth is always exciting. Speak it, then. Life is dull without it." The name of this ASH is "Exciting Truth." We will work on doing Harolds that are infused with truth but remain exciting throughout. Students will receive side coaching and individual notes from Nate Dern.

Nate Dern, Teacher
Nate has been on Harold Night since 2008. He can currently be seen performing with Sandino. Previous UCB credits include Maude team Thunder Gulch, Harold team Scootch, and the Halloween institution Killgore.
Before moving to New York, Nate improvised with Alcock Improv at Cambridge University, where he got an MPhil in screen media, and with The Immediate Gratification Players at Harvard College, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in social anthropology.
Nate has teaching experience at the middle school, high school and collegiate levels.
He is currently the Artistic Director of the UCB Theatre in New York.
