Advanced Topics in Long Form
with Kevin Mullaney
This is a five day intensive workshop on advanced long form scene work. We will focus on starting scenes organically, figuring out the behavior dynamic of characters first and let the circumstances come after. We will practice making specific observations of our scene partners and following our gut reactions to them. We will build games by fitting the specific behavior to circumstances that make it unusual and build other games through behavior--provoking reactions from our scene partner. Finally, we will cover various tools to take our scenes in surprising directions through non-sequitur moves in the middle of scenes. And as time allows, we will explore forms using these longer, unpredictable scenes.
This class meets 9am-1pm Monday-Friday.
Pre-requisite: Successful completion of Improv 401.
