Developing Stronger Characters for Your Sketches
This workshop will focus on different methods of creating solid characters for your sketches and then finding the best premise or environment for your character to play their game. We explore how POV and behavior is key to developing a strong character. No more bad doctor scenes or unjustified crazy man sketches, just pure funny character sketches you can be proud to put in your packets!
Prerequisite: Completion of UCB Sketch 101

Frank Garcia-Hejl, Teacher

Frank Hejl is a writer and actor on the sketch team Onassis [onassiscomedy.tumblr.com], winner of the 2011 Friars Club Improv and Sketch Competition, and a performer on the UCB house team Bucky. He has studied and performed at UCBT since 2007 and has written and appeared in material for MTV, Comedy Central, IFC and G4. He is probably most recognized as the voice of Seth Rogen in the online "Her" parody "Him", as Orson Welles in the web series Rejected Pitches and as Bob in the Bildebergers' infamous and NSFW web sketch "Bob's Workshop". His favorite film of all time is a tie between Ghostbusters and Gremlins. Seriously.
