(9510) Improv Elective Monday 12-3pm David Siegel

Improv Elective: Special Improv Class

Must have previous UCBT class experience. See course description below for details.
Monday 12-3pm
Start Date
Mon January 20, 2014, 12:00pm EST

Make things easier for yourself
Improv is hard enough as it is, but we make it even harder on ourselves! The best improvisers consistently set themselves up to succeed. That means establishing a base reality where you can remember versus having to invent, and letting real life experience and sensibility drive the scene instead of having to figure things out. We will explore this approach both in the context of organic scenework and initiating with a premise.
Prerequisite: Completion of UCB Improv 101

David Siegel, Teacher

David has been studying and performing at the UCB Theatre since 2006. He is an alumnus of Harold Night, having performed with numerous UCB house teams over the years, including "Tantrum," "Whorenado," "Badman," and "Greg." He was also an original cast member in the improvised political satire show "The Spin" which had a successful run at UCB. David has studied with Michael Delaney, Anthony King, Christina Gausas, Zach Ward and many others, and he's thrilled to be teaching at UCB after joining the faculty in 2010. Before moving to New York David taught and performed with Dirty South Improv in North Carolina. He is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill.
