SPECIAL DCM WORKSHOP: Simplifying Game with Alex Fernie

People get scared of the term "playing the game," so let’s change that. This workshop will focus on demystifying game and helping you create scenes that play game in real, honest and fun ways. We'll cover creating clear games in openings and in organic scenes, as well as interesting heightening moves and support from the back line.

* You must be listed on the DCM website as a performer in a group from out of town to enroll.  The registrar will check for your name and if you are not listed when you enroll, you will be removed from the workshop and lose $55.

Alex Fernie, teacher

Alex Fernie Alex Fernie has been performing improv and sketch since moving to Los Angeles after graduating from Vassar College in 2004. He has a history degree and is happy to prove it. He can be seen performing weekly with Sentimental Lady and Convoy (which has been named "Best Improv Show" several times by LA Weekly) and co-hosts the monthly Required Viewing screening series. He has also performed in many other UCB shows including Smug Rock Nation, ASSSSCAT, Comedy Death-Ray, Crash Test, Quick & Dirty Musicals, Thirty:30 etc, etc, etc.

He has worked as a writer and/or director on shows like Childrens Hospital, Bajillion Dollar Properties, NTSF:SD:SUV::, Last Week Tonight & Hotwives of Orlando, and has created several television pilots for Comedy Central, Disney Amazon Studios and FX. In front of the camera, he's appeared on Terriers, Conan, Reno 911!, Key & Peele and a bunch of other stuff. No one believes that he grew up on a horse farm, but he did.
