SPECIAL DCM WORKSHOP: Serious Comedic Acting with James III

This workshop focuses on truthful acting in comedic circumstances. Using theatrical acting techniques, you'll learn to bring comedic scripted material to life. Stanislavsky, Meisner, Hagen, Shakespeare meets Besser, Walsh, Roberts, and Poehler. Send a headshot and resume and a scene/sketch will be assigned. 

* You must be listed on the DCM website as a performer in a group from out of town to enroll.  The registrar will check for your name and if you are not listed when you enroll, you will be removed from the workshop and lose $55.

James III, teacher

James III James III is an actor and writer from Akron, Ohio. He loves dinosaurs, time travel, and Sour Patch Kids. James was a staff writer on Adam Ruins Everything/TruTV, and featured as a New Face in the 2018 Just for Laughs Characters Showcase, a performer/writer in the 2018 CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase, and received the 2017 NBC/UCBT Diversity Scholarship.

He co-hosts Black Men Can't Jump [in Hollywood] podcast and is a member of the comedy group, Astronomy Club. He currently appears on Characters Welcome at UCB LA and performed on Harold Night with Some Kid and Maude Night with Charles, Roanoke, and Moriarty at UCB NY.

But you probably know him from his dramatic three lines on Law & Order: SVU in 2011.
