SKETCH WRITING FOR THE BOLD with Thomas Lennon
In this workshop, we will
focus on the art of revision to beat jokes, cut down on clutter and
get to the point of your sketches quickly. We’ll use actual sketches
from MTV’s The State as examples of
how to develop your best sketch from inspiration to final draft.
Students may be asked to share their own sketches though participation is not mandatory or guaranteed. There will be a
Q&A with Tom at the end of the session.
Students should have access to a computer and stable, robust internet access, webcam & microphone.
This online course uses Google Classroom and Google Meet programs to conduct live sessions with your instructor and fellow students.
Please check to see if you have the compatibility requirements for utilizing these
programs before registering:
NOTE: CLASS MEETS AT PACIFIC STANDARD TIME (PST)
Thomas Lennon is a member of The State and the author of 4 of IFC’s Best Comedy Sketches of All Time. He is a NY Times Bestselling Author and appeared in the “Weird Al” Yankovic video “Foil."
And he probably shouldn’t even be teaching this class except he must have a deep devotion to the UCB. Or they have some kompromat on him. Or perhaps both?
Why can't I register?
