class will use the concept of the "Game" so a background in other UCB
classes is preferred. Students will be taught different strategies for
coming up with their characters and given tools to help breathe life
into them. By the end of class, students will have developed multiple
characters culminating in a class show where they will perform one 3-5
minute character monologue.
Students will be expected to write and prepare characters outside of
class each week. You will perform those characters! You will write AND

Hal Rudnick, teacher
Hal Rudnick enjoys the heck out of performing at UCB. During his time there he's been a part of THE MIDNIGHT SHOW, six different Harold teams, two Maude teams, and countless other shows. Currently he performs monthly in TOURNAMENT OF NERDS, and Characters Welcome. He also enjoys the opportunity to teach sketch and improv comedy at UCB. Outside of UCB he's an actor and writer having appeared all over TV including the shows Key & Peele, Adam Ruins Everything, COMMUNITY and RENO 911!
