This course introduces students to the long form improvisation structure known as "The Harold," developed by Del Close.
"The Harold" is a series of scenes inspired by a single suggestion that fit together into one cohesive half hour piece. Students learn how to 1) perform openings, 2) create scenes inspired by an opening 3) perform "group games," 4) second and third beats (returning to scenes later in the piece).
Course meets for 8 sessions, each 3 hours long.
Students will take part in a class performance, generally held at the UCB Theatre.
Students required to see at least 2 improvised shows at the UCB Theater before the end of the course.

Molly is an improvisor, actor and writer based in New York City. Current UCB Shows: Higgins: The Instagram Show, We Know How You Die!, and the Lady Jam! Previous UCB shows: Sherlock & Cookies, Hotspur, the Jam at UCB East as well as the sketch show "Standards & Practices". Recently, Molly performed We Know How You Die! in DC at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre. She starred Off-Broadway in the world premiere of Beau Willimon's play "Breathing Time". Molly has been featured in videos on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The President Show, Above Average, UCBComedy, Nickelodeon and MTV. Molly studied Theatre and English at Indiana University. She studied acting, set building, ticket taking, bathroom maintenance and snow shoveling at Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company.Registration Unavailable
