Each advanced study course is instructor-driven. Students will get to study the Harold and related performance pieces and will receive personal feedback about their own performance and progress as improvisers.

Harold: Creator of Worlds

In this class we will focus on building out Harolds that all take place in the same "world". Perhaps we explore a Harold in a small town, a Harold in one hospital on one given day, a Harold in a post-apocalyptic hellscape as the survivors try to reassemble despite the insidious efforts of the Hollow men. THAT'S UP TO YOU!

Students must have successfully completed Improv 401 to apply for a spot in this class. Students will be selected from all qualified applicants with a randomizing tool.

Students who have taken 4 or more Advanced Study classes in the past 12 months should not apply for this course. Also, this course will count as one of your four Advanced Study courses for the year.

James Dwyer James Dwyer -- comedian, actor, writer -- performs improv every Friday night at UCB Hell's Kitchen with The Law Firm.You can also check out his show A Big Dumb Thing -- a monthly showcase for the absurd cohosted by Jackie Jennings -- on the second Saturday of each month at UCB East. Previously he has performed on Harold Night and in the sketch shows Standards & Practices and Dorothy Goes To Hollywood.
