Understanding the fundamentals will be achieved through exercises and scene work in class, seeing improv shows at UCB Theatre and reading the UCB Comedy Improvisation Manual.
Students are required to see at least 2 improvised shows at UCB Theatre before the end of the course.
Course meets for 8 sessions, each 3 hours long.
Students will take part in a class performance, generally held at UCB Theatre.
Class Size: 16 Students
Improv 101 students are required to acquire the Upright Citizens Brigade Comedy Improvisation Manual by class #2. The Manual can be purchased for non-refundable $25 at UCB Theatre, UCB Training Center NY, UCBstore.com or Amazon.com.
Note: Meets March 6, Ash Wednesday.
Jeremy Bent, teacher
Jeremy was born and raised in Rhode Island, and spent four years writing and performing sketches with Boston University's award-winning Slow Children At Play. Jeremy is a member of the UCB house team Bucky, and plays regularly with his team Thank You, Robot. He can be heard on the improvised science fiction podcast Mission to Zyxx as the sardonic protocol droid C-53. He also greatly enjoys surf music.Registration Unavailable
