Understanding the fundamentals will be achieved through exercises and scene work in class, seeing improv shows at UCB Theatre and reading the UCB Comedy Improvisation Manual.
Students are required to see at least 2 improvised shows at UCB Theatre before the end of the course.
Course meets for 8 sessions, each 3 hours long.
Students will take part in a class performance, generally held at UCB Theatre.
Erik Tanouye, teacher
Erik Tanouye is a half-Japanese comedian who can be seen every Saturday night performing with The Curfew at the UCB Theatre in Hell's Kitchen. He was a creative consultant for Netflix's The Characters: Natasha Rothwell episode.
