Improv 301
introduces students to the long form improvisation structure known as
"The Harold," developed by Del Close.

"The Harold" is a series of scenes inspired by a single suggestion that
fit together into one cohesive half hour piece.

Students learn how to

1) Perform openings

2) Create scenes inspired by an opening

3) Perform
"Group Games"

4) Second and third beats (returning to scenes later in
the piece).



Course meets for 8 sessions, each 2 hours long.

You cannot enroll in this course until you receive written notice that
you have successfully completed Improv 201. ONLY if 10 days have passed
since your last class and you have not received this

Students should have access to a computer and stable, robust internet access, webcam & microphone. 


This
online course uses Google Classroom and Google Meet programs to conduct
live sessions with your instructor and fellow students.

Donald Chang, teacher

Donald  Chang Donald is a Southern boy turned NYC comedian, actor and voice over artist. You can see him on ABC's "For Life", HBO's "High Maintenance" and TV Land's "Younger", the feature film “Happy Cleaners”, as well as the webseries “[Blank] My Life”. His previous stage credits include Doctor Chang in John Pollono’s “Rules of Seconds” at Barebones Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA. He was on Character's Welcome Team, Mallrat, as well as on the Harold Team, Calico.
